Your files live on someone else's servers. Your network exists at a platform's mercy. Your digital life isn't really yours.
Your Data, Your Rules
Open-source collaboration you actually own
— no ads, no tracking, no lock-in.
Free forever. No credit card needed.
Your files stay on YOUR server
Your documents, photos, and data live where you choose — not on some corporation's servers. No third-party access, no scanning, no surprises.
When platforms shut down services, users lose years of curated content. With Cloudillo, your data is always under your control.
Switch providers anytime. Keep everything.
Built your network on Facebook? Lost it when they changed the rules? With Cloudillo, your connections and content travel with you. Forever.
Platform algorithm changes can devastate reach overnight. Your Cloudillo network is truly portable—it goes where you go.
Host it yourself, or pick any cloud.
Run Cloudillo on your laptop, a Raspberry Pi, or any cloud provider. Move between them freely — your data, your choice, no restrictions.
When your provider raises prices or changes terms, you're not trapped. Migration takes minutes, not months.
Edit docs together in real-time.
Collaborate like Google Docs — edit spreadsheets, co-write documents, share files. All in sync, all private, all yours.
Cloud documents on corporate servers may be used to train AI models. Your Cloudillo documents remain confidential—always.
Share with anyone — even non-Cloudillo users
Send files, collaborate on projects, and connect with anyone — whether they use Cloudillo or not. No walled gardens.
Email thrived because it's open and federated. Cloudillo brings that same interoperability to modern collaboration.
No ads. No algorithm. Just what you asked for.
Tired of feeds designed to addict you? Cloudillo shows only what you want — no ads, no manipulation, no algorithmic noise.
Algorithmic feeds are optimized for engagement metrics, not your priorities. Reclaim your attention and see what matters to you.
Why Cloudillo?
Existing solutions tried—but fell short
The Problem
Your digital identity is scattered across dozens of platforms. Each one holds your data hostage, monetizes your attention, and can change the rules anytime.
Why Existing Solutions Fall Short
Fediverse (Mastodon, etc.)
Your identity is tied to a specific server. Change servers? Start over. Lose your followers, your history, your network.
Self-Hosted (NextCloud, etc.)
Each instance is an isolated island. No seamless collaboration across instances. Your friends need accounts on YOUR server.
The Cloudillo Innovation
DNS-based portable identity
Your identity is yours—independent of where your data lives. Like an internet passport that works everywhere.
Your identity travels with you
Switch providers without losing connections
Collaborate globally with anyone, anywhere

The European Union must keep funding free software
by Szilárd Hajba
Since 2020, Next Generation Internet (NGI) programmes, part of European Commission's Horizon programme, fund free software in Europe using a cascade funding mechanism (see for example NGI0 Commons Fund). This year, according to the Horizon Europe working draft detailing funding programmes for 2025, we notice that Next Generation Internet is not mentioned any more as part of Cluster 4.
